BC PNP in 2026: How the New Streams Work and What the June Draws Showed

The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) selects workers through a registration pool: you register, receive a score, and wait for an invitation to apply (ITA) in one of the program’s targeted streams. The province’s June 2026 invitation rounds show precisely who British Columbia is choosing right now.

The June 2026 results

On June 18, 2026, the BC PNP invited 130 candidates under Innovate: High Economic Impact for jobs paying at least $62/hour and $125,000/year in NOC TEER 0 to 3 occupations, plus another 149 candidates through a points-based Innovate round with a minimum score of 136. On June 2, 2026, invitations went to caregivers and builders: Care: Childcare (early childhood educators, minimum score 111, 91 invitations), Care: Health (priority health occupations, score 100, 117 invitations), Care: Veterinary (score 92), and Build: Construction Trades (priority construction occupations, score 101, 128 invitations). Entrepreneur streams also drew, with base scores around 117 to 118.

What the streams tell you

BC is buying three things: high-wage economic impact, care economy workers (childcare, health, veterinary), and construction trades. If your occupation fits one of these, your registration score requirement is dramatically lower than for general high-impact candidates.

Why the BC PNP matters so much

A provincial nomination adds 600 points to an Express Entry profile, effectively guaranteeing a federal invitation, or supports a paper-based PR application outside Express Entry. For many BC workers whose CRS score cannot compete in federal draws, the BC PNP is the realistic route to permanent residence.

A lawyer’s note

Registration scores are built on wage, occupation, region, language and education, and small improvements (a raise, a better language score, a regional job offer) can move you above a cut-off. Employers also have obligations in BC PNP applications that are frequently underestimated. If you are planning a nomination-based strategy, align your work permit and PR timeline from the start.
