The promise
What referring professionals can expect
A referral is an act of trust with your own reputation. Mine is a simple undertaking: your client is treated as a priority, your relationship with them is respected absolutely, and you’re kept informed to the degree the client consents.
I take referrals as full-representation matters, as consultation-only engagements where your client just needs a legal read, and as co-counsel or advisory arrangements behind your own file, whichever serves the client and your practice.
Immigration consultants: I regularly act on matters outside RCIC scope, federal litigation aside, think complex inadmissibility, procedural fairness responses and refusal strategy, and send clients back once the legal issue is resolved.
Who refers here
Built for three kinds of referrer
Most referrals come from professionals whose clients hit an immigration wall mid-engagement, at exactly the moment trust matters most.
Legal
Lawyers & consultants
Family, employment, corporate and criminal counsel with immigration-adjacent issues; RCICs needing counsel on complex files.
- Criminal counsel: DUI & inadmissibility fallout
- Family counsel: sponsorship & status in separation
- RCICs: complex-case co-work & legal opinions
Business
Accountants, advisors and recruiters whose clients are moving to Canada, hiring internationally, or restructuring across borders.
- Cross-border personal & business moves
- Founder and investor relocations
- Employer-side hiring programs
HR & community
HR teams managing foreign workers, and community organizations whose members need a lawyer they can trust.
- Work permit strategy & compliance
- Employee PR support programs
- Community-organization partnerships

Ground rules
The referral covenant
Four commitments, on every referred matter:
- Your client relationship is respected. I act on the immigration matter only
- Conflicts checked before any substantive discussion
- Solicitor-client privilege and confidentiality from first contact
- Honest scoping: if it isn\u2019t worth pursuing, your client hears that too
Complex cases
Send the hard ones
The files that reward legal attention: refusals and procedural fairness letters, inadmissibility of every kind, misrepresentation allegations, status emergencies and employer compliance exposure.
These are the matters where early legal advice changes outcomes, and where a referring professional’s client most needs the referral to be right.

Good to know
Referral questions, answered
No. Referrals here run on professional trust, not fees, which also keeps everyone comfortably inside their professional conduct rules.
No. I act on the immigration matter and send the client back. Poaching a referred client is the fastest way to end a referral relationship, and I want yours for years.
Yes, consultation-only engagements are common for referred clients: a legal read on a refusal, a strategy sanity-check, or a risk assessment before filing, without taking over the file.
Collaboratively. RCICs refer matters needing legal handling, complex inadmissibility, procedural fairness, litigation-adjacent strategy, and I return clients for the work squarely in RCIC scope. Co-work arrangements are documented so responsibilities are clear.
Two lines and a phone number is genuinely enough. If you have refusal letters, prior applications or deadlines, flag the deadline first, timelines drive everything in immigration.
